Tonkin Bamboo
Traditionally used in the Mediterranean and south of France this material is used extensively to create shade in the hot months or simply to create a rustic resort feel.
Tonkin bamboo provides a lovely filtered light while reducing the heat of the sun. The wind can travel though the material which in turn reduces the wind load.
Used naturally the material will fade over time when placed directly in the sun to a lovely silvery grey or alternately the material can be painted.
